In 2017 we are launching the 4.20 Concert Series. Taking place each afternoon at 4.20pm (with the exception of Friday), these informal concerts will provide a more relaxed performance setting during the course for those who don’t wish to sing during the evening concerts. Students will be able to sign up the day before and the allocated accompanist will be detailed on the sign-up sheet (although students may chose another pianist with whom they have already rehearsed the piece).
Student Showcase Concerts
Each day tutors recommend students to perform in the concert that evening and the list of performers is put on the Music School notice board by 5pm. This year we would like all students to have at least two pieces memorised and ready to perform at the start of the week. Please bring suitable dress appropriate for performance, as you may be asked to perform on any evening.
Be sure not to miss Linda Ormiston’s mid-week Lollipops concert, followed by a traditional Scottish Ceilidh.
The Chapel Concert is a real highlight of the course and many students take part in the Oxenfoord Choir; rehearsing between 5pm-6pm each day and performing a range of choral repertoire in the beautiful setting of the School Chapel.
The course culminates in the Opera Scenes performance – a high point of the week for many. Details of all the evening concerts are as follows:
