Oxenfoord International takes place at St Leonards School in the historic university town of St Andrews. The school is set in spacious grounds and provides comfortable accommodation and excellent music facilities, with numerous pianos and practise rooms.
Within a few minutes' walking distance is the centre of St Andrews, the world famous golf courses and golf museum, a leisure swimming pool, tennis and squash courts, sandy beaches, a picturesque harbour, and ruins of the castle and abbey.
The summer school offers a rare opportunity for singers and accompanists, from the inexperienced to those at the highest level, to study with renowned teachers.
In general, students are actively involved in one or more of their chosen classes/courses every day. Between these timetabled sessions there is freedom to practise or to observe the various classes in progress.
In the evenings there will be several student concerts open to the public when it is hoped that as many students as possible will have the opportunity to perform.
Every morning there will be an optional vocal and physical warm-up before classes begin. There will be several sessions open to everyone, and in the late afternoons all course members have the opportunity to meet and sing together in preparation for the final concert by candlelight on Sunday
