Oxenfoord International takes place at Musselburgh’s Loretto School, just a few miles east of Edinburgh. The school is set in spacious grounds providing convenient accommodation and excellent music facilities. With its suite of All-Steinway pianos, and headed by international accompanist Malcolm Martineau, it offers a rare opportunity for singers and accompanists, from the inexperienced to those at the highest level, to study with specialist tutors in their field. Our professional accompanists play for all classes and concerts and will help to rehearse repertoire. If you wish to bring your own accompanist there will be many opportunities to perform together and fine tune repertoire you may have been working on for some time. If you are applying as a duo, please let us know at the point of application.
Upon arrival at Loretto you’ll receive a welcome pack at the registration desk in the Music School (with timetable template, door codes, catering times etc). Directions to the Music School will be sign-posted from the main school gates. The Music School notice boards will display course information throughout the week and any important announcements will be made during morning warm-ups and evening concerts. Arrival time will be between 3pm – 6pm on Saturday 22nd July, with dinner at 6pm and a performance from Junior Oxenfoord students at 7.30pm. After the concert all will be welcome to come to the bar.
