Gary Matthewman

Gary Matthewman trained as a song pianist at the RCM, and is now in demand as a recitalist and vocal coach. Winner of the piano prize at the first 'Das Lied - International Song Competition' in Berlin last year, he has performed throughout Europe, and in South Korea, USA, Brazil and New Zealand. At home, he has appeared at Wigmore Hall, the Royal Opera House, and at the Aldeburgh, Newbury, Hay-on-Wye and Bath festivals. Gary has made numerous live broadcasts and recordings for BBC Radio 3, and has recently performed in recital alongside Kate Royal, Sir Thomas Allen, Sumi Jo, Sally Matthews and Simon Keenlyside. This year, Gary is the official accompanist for BBC Cardiff Singer of the World competition.
