David Roblou

David Roblou As conductor his repertoire includes some 60 operas from 1600 to the present day, including 3 world premières, plus ballet, oratorio and orchestral works of all periods, touring the UK, Europe and the Americas. Founder Musical Director of Midsummer Opera in 1985, he has been overall Artistic Director since 2000. His harpsichord repertoire ranges from 16th to 20th centuries, in recital, concerto and chamber music, in concert and on radio and CD throughout the world. He has been principal keyboard-player for Philip Pickett's New London Consort for 40 years. As coach he has guested at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden and English National Opera, taught at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London, Birmingham University, the Hamburg Hochschule, gives masterclasses internationally and is consulted by singers enjoying careers worldwide.
